Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Molly #9..VT

Marley...MD
Marley is now Isabella, we just call her Izzy for short. She did not really respond to her name and it was so close to our other dog Molly we decided to change it. She comes to Izzy now. She has been through a lot and has come so far in a short period of time. She now weighs in at 8.6 pounds which I think is great considering we haven't had her that long and she was really sick for a while. We all really love her especially her new buddy Molly. They play together, lie in the sun together and go for long walks. Izzy is learning very fast. She did not walk on a lease well or potty outside when she arrived. It seemed like she was use to going on pee pads inside. With a lot of encouragement she now is walking on a lease pretty well and is going to potty outside pretty well. She eats like a champ and is very treat oriented so it helps a lot with training. She seems to like me and my husband equally now and sleeps on both of our laps. She does this thing where she pats my husbands face with her paw which she doesn't do to me, we can't quite figure out what that means. She even does well in her crate when I go to work she just sleeps the day away. I think she is a very good fit for our home and we are very happy. I don't know if you can see the weight gain in the above pictures, the first picture was when she first got here.
Thanks so much for enquiring

Mary Kate...VA
Email from Mary Kate's Forever Home to Her Foster Mom: Hi Sandi
I just wanted to give you an update on MK. She had her first vet appointment this Saturday, and the vet was very impressed and didn’t really believe me that she was a rescue pup.
Other than that, she is adjusting well, the vet also noted that she was already very bonded to me which surprised him.
She is adjusting really well. She loves sitting with me on the couch and snoringJ. She also hides herself under a blanket which I think is really cute. She was a little whiny on Sunday and yesterday morning, but last night she was much better.
She and Kayce are mostly ignoring each other at this point, which is much better than if they were fighting. I’m sure they will be best friends really soon. I added a really cute picture of her that my friend took.
Thanks for taking care of her until she came into my life. She will have the best home with me and will be taken care of J
Molly 8...AL
From Molly's new family: "As I write this all my girls are sitting with me. Molly is on my left hip. She is precious and doing wonderful....she is priceless."
