BIO:

Robin #2 came into rescue from Cochran, GA. She was turned into rescue and they reached out to rescues because she was heartworm positive. We could not get this little girl out of our minds so we decided to take her in and treat her for her heartworms so she can go on to live a wonderful new life. Heartworm disease could be eliminated if only everyone would give a preventative monthly, 8.00 a month could save a life and allow them to not have to go through the painful treatment.

Robin#2 is friendly to all, great at traveling in a car and just a pleasure to foster.

She gets along with all the foster brothers and sisters but don’t know about cats but we think they would be fine with her laid back personality. She is doing great at housebreaking would just need a schedule.

Robin loves to have your lap to sleep in. She also is requesting a fenced in yard to run and play in. Would do best with another dog to play with and learn from.

Can’t go wrong with this sweetie, she’s not available right now due to heartworm treatment but all good things are worth waiting for.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If they choose transporting by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

More about Robin #2...FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
