BEING FOSTERED IN MIDDLE TN.... Malfoy gets along great with other dogs. He loves to play and he is already protective of his foster mom! He likes to go on walks and snuggle right beside you when you sleep. He would be a great addition to any family, with or without other dogs but would probably do best with a someone to play with. His hair is growing back and he is healthy and rambunctious! He loves to sit on your lap while you work on the computer. He is a sweet boy that will be a blessing to anyone that adopts him Malfoy walks great on a leash too and would be a great pet for anyone. Hi, my name is Malfoy. I heard somebody say that was a name from a movie so that means I must be a star. I was so itchy and miserable but these nice people found out it was something called demodex mange. I got lots of special baths and medicine so I'm all fixed up now. My foster mom says my hair is coming back.
I am a good boy. I love to play with the other dogs and I love children and I get along with the cats too. I am crate trained but I do best if you give me a rolled up rawhide, a treat, and a toy. That's where I stay when no one is home but I sleep with my human. I am doing great at going out side to potty. I would love to have a playmate so I won't be bored. I'd love a fenced yard to run and play. Malfoy does great with a doggie door and loves to play but also likes to cuddle with his human family. If you have a young dog that you want a playmate for Malfoy is the dog for you. He is completely vetted and neutered on Interceptor and Frontline.
If you are looking for a really good boy to love and love you back, I am your boy.
Thanks, Malfoy

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
