BABS and her sister PRECIOUS were in a garage sale for sale in TN. The owner was moving and didn't want to take the dogs. Lucky for them a very Good Samaritan came along and offered a price and bought them. Also lucky for them she is a foster home for the shelter in the area and knew that they could go into rescue where they would be safe and find GOOD FOREVER HOMES!! And so, now they are here. We've not had them long enough but will update their bio as we know more. We can say that they will be spayed, UTD on all shots and heartworm checked and negative and on Frontline and Interceptor before they will go on to their next home. They wanted them to try to go together but we've had them here and they are not bonded at all so we think they can go to separate homes with no trouble. Babs is the largest of the two and very pretty - more the social one and not as shy. Her weight is just right for her size and her coat is shiny and her teeth look great. So, except for putting them in a garage sale for sale they took good care of them it appears.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
