BIO:

Rudolph was left in a box outside of the Dollar Store in KY. The store took him to the local shelter and that is when we were contacted to rescue him. When we picked him up he was scared, but so glad to see a friendly face. He was taken directly to our vet’s office where he received his first round of puppy shots and then treated for parasites. He has been in his foster home for a week and you would have never known his little life started out so rocky. He loves to play and chew! He is learning that toes are not appropriate to chew on. After he is finished playing he LOVES to cuddle up and sleep with you. We are working on house training but of course at this young age there are still accidents everyday.  He loves playing with his foster brothers and sisters. We think it would be best if he was in a home with another dog so he can have a playmate. We will post more information as it comes available. Please consider being his happy ending.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $25 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo.  Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.  Please note, if this animal is listed as a courtesy for another organization please contact that organization for details about adoption areas and transportation options.

More about RUDOLPH...TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
