Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Andy number 2...in NY
Oh my gosh...you asked so be careful what you wish for...I can just gush and gush about that sweet little lover boy!!!!
I'm in love and he has me wrapped around his hand ( I don't call them paws) :)
I have tons of pix, I can't help myself.
We are approaching the end of our fourth week on Black Friday. Times flying and I'm cherishing every minute.
Aunt Bea....PA
Aunt Bea is doing great. We thought we had already found the best dachshund in the world, but apparently there were two :)
She and our male doxie bonded very quickly and enjoy spending time together. And of course, she's such a cuddle bug and so lovable there's hardly a minute that one of us isn't holding her :) House training is a little slow, but we're starting to figure out a schedule and that seems to be working. She's just a wonderful addition to our family.

Arden....TN
This photo of Arden kicking back was shared by his forever family!!
Abe...KY
Way to go my friend!! Hope you're using sunscreen today!! Burger (formerly Abe) enjoying a beautiful summer day!!! You're livin' the good life now!!!
Aspen...NY
Aspen is doing great, he's an absolute delight and has settled into city living extremely well. He brings tons of joy to everyone he sees in NYC and I am not exaggerating when I say we cannot go for a single walk without smiles and conversations. He is an excellent poster child for rescuing a dog. I was very specific in what I was looking for, and I had a lot of dealbreakers (good health, housebroken, etc). I was starting to wonder if I'd ever find a dog through rescue after looking for a couple of moths.
Fortunately the folks at AADR were kind enough to take the time and care to communicate with me extensively about different dogs. Aspen's foster parents did a great job acclimating him to a new home and learning his personality so I had a lot of info up front. They even drove him down to me, which was also enormously kind of them.
People cannot believe Aspen was adopted because he is so agreeable and pleasant. He's never had an accident in the house, is great on the leash and rides the subway with me like a seasoned commuter! A lot of people are surprised that such a wonderful guy could have ended up in rescue, so I imagine he'd be a great ambassador.
I've sent some photos to Diane and the families who helped me adopt Aspen so I will try and dig those out so you can see what he's been up to.
Thanks for checking in.
Best,
Lizzie
