Barkley 11/27/2020 RIP sweet boy
Words or all the tears can't say how sad it is that my Barkley has crossed the rainbow bridge on Friday evening. It was only a short time with Barkley but I love being his mom. Barkley was diagnosis with liver problems back in August and it took it's toll on his little body. Run free my Barkley until we meet again. Love you!!

Niko Jack Cassell
In loving memory of Niko Jack Cassell who passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer and heart failure after 10 blissful years together. He was the best doxie ambassador, helping me foster 23 other dachshunds, including his brother and best friend, Amp. Niko was always within my sight: my personal shadow. No closed door could ever separate us. His death won’t, either. Going through the rescue process with you and seeing you become the dog you were always meant to be, even at 4-6 years old, was one of the greatest privileges of my existence. To quote Thoughts of Dog, “the best thing I did. this entire decade. was love you.” I was never lonely with you and will miss you eternally. Rest easy my little monster, love boat, love bug, and little prince. Until we meet again. -Kait Cassell

Rusty Dog
Rusty Dog. You were the best buddy, biggest Chief's fan, and most patient friend. We know you're hanging out with Papa Fred now sitting in the sun. We love you, Sandy, Brian, Corey, and Cami

Willy Borrego, Rest in Peace October 24, 2020
I was never a pet person until I laid eyes on you! And, when you became a part of our family, you made us whole. You taught us the true meaning of unconditional love. Willy, as I sit here with tears streaming down my face (as they have most of this week), I want you to know how very special you are and how very loved you always will be. You brought us joy beyond measure and more love than two people deserve. And so now, after 5,232 days (14 years, 3 months, and 26 days), our time with you has come to an end. There are simply no words to describe the pain. You are an amazing fighter - even after being diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure 3 years ago and Renal Failure 1 year ago, you fought through ALL of that until... you just got tired... And, although this is the most heart-wrenching thing we have ever done, we knew it was time for you to finally rest. -Kim Borrego

Bea aka Brittney RIP
BEA We adopted Bea (f/k/a “Brittany”) on December 29, 2019, when she was already 13+ years old. Originally from Kentucky, Bea was truly a southern belle, as she didn’t care for cold weather, especially with snow, rain or wind. The old gal was pretty frail, yet she never complained. Bundled up in her blanket, and if really chilly, a warmed towel too, she was always kept snug and cozy. Come the nice weather, Bea’s favorite pastime, aside from eating, was sunbathing in our yard. She would spend what seemed like hours finding just the right spot, then when her sunbeam became obstructed, she would again search for the ideal spot to rest her weary bones. Sadly, Bea was senile, completely deaf and had difficulty seeing, so she rarely interacted with our other 13-year-old Doxie, Shorty. Nonetheless, so long as the sun was shining, Bea was always content. We began to see a rapid decline in Bea over the past few weeks. In Bea’s own way, she began telling us that it was time for her to cross over the Rainbow Bridge and that she would be waiting for us on the other side. Knowing that another winter would be just too much for her to endure, with the sage guidance of our veterinarian, we made the difficult, yet humane decision to let her go. Bea passed away peacefully in my arms, with a tummy full of all her favorite treats on October 13, 2020; less than ten months since she joined our little clan. Our entire family wishes we had known her years ago, as we are certain that she had truly been a “Belle of the Ball
