BIO:  Jingles was given up by her owner when she had to go into a rented one room home and could not take Jingles with her. When Jingles came into the foster home she was very scared of the other dogs and was happy to be isolated in the kitchen by herself, but slowly she ventured out and soon she was spending more time out then in. Now she’s out with the other dogs and doing well but with this being a high volume home, she would do much better in a home with another younger dog to teach her how to be a playmate for them and a cuddle bug when you are gone.

Jingles is an easy learner and has caught on quickly to going outside to potty and will even go out by herself though the doggie door.

Jingles is a very playful dog with her foster mom but is just now trying to learn to play with the other dogs and loves to run around the fenced-in yard with the few of the other younger dogs here. She will continue to open up and grow but the person that adopts her has to continue to socialize her with other dogs and people.

Our dream home for Jingles is one that has a fenced-in yard with another younger dog (male or female) to play with and more settled empty-nesters that have the time to continue to work with her... the rewards will be great!

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. 

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 Fee added for the required Health Certificate. 

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $45.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another $50.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well.  For now, please look for dogs on your coast.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
