BIO: Lexie is part of a group of siblings which were all surrendered to a shelter in Tennessee. She is definitely part dachshund, but it is unknown as to what else she might be mixed with. We don’t even know her exact date of birth, but by her size we are guessing it was around July 29, 2014. In addition to having the cutest face ever, she has a FANTASTIC personality! She sleeps a lot, like all puppies do, but when she is awake she is full of energy and love! One thing to note is that her tail seems to be on the “short” side. Not sure why, but she appears to have been born that way. However, I think it just adds to how unique she really is! If you loved to be kissed, and you want a puppy to call your own, then Lexie just might be for you! In addition, please don’t let her foster location (which is in Columbia, Maryland) stand in your way. We have a slew of volunteers who will help with transporting your “new best friend” to her forever home! If you have ANY additional questions about Lexie, please feel free to email me, Mary Anne, at maryanne70@gmail.com.
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
