Do you want a beautiful dachshund? Well you just found him!! Saban is beautiful inside and out. He has nice house manners, is very friendly and aims to please. We would like him to have a fenced in yard or at least someone that is active and walks every day(on leash of course), to keep him slim and trim if you don’t do that he would be a total couch potato. He gets along with all the foster siblings and the foster mom’s dogs.
Saban came in from Northern AL when his owner got sick and could no longer care for him. If it hadn’t been for that we know that Saban wouldn’t be in rescue. Many of these dogs end up getting issues because of owners and a few perfect dogs come along, well this boy is one of those. Probably would be best if he were adopted to a family with a fenced in yard and another dog for him to keep company. Please Saban doesn’t want to be homeless give him the home he deserves…he’ll repay you in kisses daily.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
