JOHN IS BROKEN-HEARTED 4 TIMES NOW HE HAS BEEN PROMISED A FOREVER HOME AND FOUR TIMES (THROUGH NO FAULT OF HIS OWN) HIS ADOPTION FELL THROUGH. PLEASE HELP JOHN FIND HIS FOREVER HOME SO HE WON'T BE SAD ANY LONGER!!
John came to AADR along with his mother, brothers and sister when a breeder was forced to give up her dogs.
From John
Hi, my name is John. According to my foster Mom, I am a lover. I will cover you with kisses and snuggle for hours. She also says I am a “social butterfly” because I like people of all ages and all other animals. I even like little people as long as they treat me respectfully.
I am crate trained, but prefer the big bed with someone to snuggle up to. I love to play with my foster brothers and sister, and to run in the fenced yard. I am good with baths and having my nails trimmed, so I should have no problem with that as long as you keep it up. Like most puppies, I play lots, sleep lots and am sweet, sweet, SWEET!!! I am almost housetrained (with a regular schedule and lots of trips outside) and am easily distracted from chewing stuff I am not supposed to when given a good chew toy. I am even learning to like riding in a car. I would need a home with someone who would be around to continue with my housetraining as I am still a pup and can not hold my bladder yet. I would also like to have at least one other playful dog in my new home as a companion. Will you adopt me and love me furever???
More about JOHN...CT
Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
