BIO:

Jolene is a rescue from a breeder but is now free to enjoy a life a dog should have.  She is an absolute LOVE BUG.  She wants to cuddle with her human so she needs to go to a home that can  give her all the love and attention she so deserves.  She is a well behaved little dog who gets along well with males & females. I believe she needs at least one other dog to live with as she is constantly by my Beau’s side. I have not heard her really bark like my other guys but I’m sure she can.  She is working hard on learning the potty thing but can have an accident if not on a strict schedule.  She is crate trained and sleeps all nite in hers with no problems. She uses the ramp to get up & down from the couch which is great to protect her back.  We have taken her on several walks so far and she has done very well on the leash.

She has been fully vetted which included spaying, heartworm preventative, vaccines and a dental.  Her teeth were in bad shape and she lost quite a few—she will need kibble that has been softened for the rest of her life.  She has some hair loss on her tail but the rest of her coat is now shiny and beautiful.
This little girl is an absolute sweetheart who will steal your heart—Please consider giving her the forever home she so deserves to have.

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
