BIO:

JUNIOR was dumped in a kill shelter in Southern IN by his family that had him for 12 yrs then decided they didn't want him anymore. No reason given. A good Samaritan pulled him and got him his shots and contacted us to see if we would take him. We are sure he was a well loved and pampered pet at one time but not lately. He has a mind of his own, very housebroken and will bark when he wants to go outside or wants to eat. He loves to sit with you while you watch TV or read a book. Junior deserves a lasting forever home for his last years. He does have a heart mummer that we treat with a very inexpensive daily pill and will give his adopter a 60 day supply. We mostly want to see Junior spend the rest of his days not worrying about getting dumped at a shelter again. He had a dental and lost some teeth by not as many as we thought he would for his age. Please someone rescue Junior!

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 fee for the Health Certificate required. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application.

More about JUNIOR...NC

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
