BIO: Hank is still very much a puppy. Wants to know what everything is and what everything tastes like. Very agreeable disposition, plays well with his partner Bubby and is accommodating to all other pets in the household. No idea what he would be like around children but he does not appear to be aggressive. He sometimes shares his food bowl with Bubby but doesn't get enough to eat that way. He came to us on the skinny side but has put on a pound or so. Hank spends bedtime with Bubby but is not as carefree about the cage as Bubby is. Hank and Bubby didn't start out their lives together but have become very close. It would be terrific if they were able to be adopted together. Additional pictures of Hank and Bubby can be found at www.gorgeousoranges.blogspot.com.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
More about Hank....CA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
