Hi everyone......meet Bobbi. What a lovely little girl! Bobbi is a small but solid pup. She is completely potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go out. Bobbi likes nothing better than to curl up in her blanket to keep warm. She is being fostered in Maine and like most dogs of this breed, doesn't have enough hair to keep her warm in this weather. Bobbi is very protective of her food. She will put other dogs in their place if they mess with her food no matter how big they are! Bobbi can be timid in the beginning. I find that when I raise my voice for any reason (my mother is hard of hearing) Bobbi gets upset and tries to hide. My guess is that she was yelled at alot in a previous life. She loves, loves, loves to ride in the car and go for a walk. Bobbi is a great passenger and is perfect on a leash. A belly rub is her favorite thing. I would recommend Bobbi go to a home with no small children or other dogs. She deserves some undivided attention but is not needy. She is fine with cats. Please give this little darling a safe and happy forever home.

Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
