BIO: Daisy came from Georgia when her owner passed away and the family couldn’t keep her since they have big dogs. She was not happy with the large dogs but does just fine with small dogs. Cats, well, not so much. Daisy is a true Southern girl... she hates the cold and will wear a coat or sweater to keep her warm, and she’ll crawl under the covers too.
Daisy’s wish-list includes:
- A fenced yard
- Another dog to keep her company if you have to be gone, she’s fine not crated
- She’d like it if you could be home a lot but doesn’t mind you being in another room
- Children or grandchildren over 10 years running and being loud would make her too nervous
- No apartments or high rises
Daisy would love to come to your house and stay. She’s a laid-back little girl, willing to sleep while you watch TV, and will spend the night on the couch while you sleep in your bed. She knows how to use the doggie door and has had no accidents in her foster home. She has however, been fed people food so that needs to continue to be discouraged. If you are looking for a sweet girl to add to your family, you can’t go wrong with Daisy! She’ll be spayed and will have a dental on the 15th of December and will be ready to go to her forever home on the 19th, just in time for Christmas.
============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============
If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.
We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 fee added for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.
To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please review Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and MidWest. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
