BEING FOSTERED IN middle TN

Chipped by AVID
JOE IS READY TO GO TO HIS NEW HOME.....WILL THAT BE YOURS??????
JOE came from a shelter in LA where he was either turned in or found as a stray....but really doesn't matter it's still the run off from the Hurricane that went thru last year. Yes we are still getting in Katrina dogs(if that is what he was when we got him). Now they are surrendered because the ones that went back or stayed can't afford to keep their animals or don't have a place to live with a dog so off they go to the shelters. Most are put down but some of the lucky ones get out like JOE. He is really a sweet boy and is a little shy but does warm up after he knows that you are ok and he can trust you. Joe was adopted out but was returned to us and now we are looking for his last forever home. We were told by the other adopters that he is aggressive when walked on a leash but he's been in two different foster homes for us to see if this was the case and we just can't see that in him. He did have a skin issue but that is all taken care of now with no lasting effects. We don't want to see Joe bounced into any more adoptive homes so this next one has to be the last one. He is just a very sweet boy that goes with the flow and just wants to be loved. If you can give Joe the kind of home he needs with a fenced in yard and maybe even a brother or sister, Joe would be a happy camper. Please give him the home he deserves!!
Joe is UTD on all of his shots and on heartworm prevention and Frontline.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
